# about wander

## the story

Wander is made by [Anton](https://x.com/podviaznikov). Work began on July 5, 2026, but it did not start from zero. The editor, sync, search and the code that reads Apple's own formats come from months of work on his earlier apps, and so do many of the ideas.

It is for people who keep their notes as plain markdown files and want a native editor for them on Mac, iPhone and iPad, without moving the files anywhere.

Why now: notes in plain files are easy for both you and AI agents to work with. Wander is inspired by ideas from four apps: Apple Notes, Obsidian, Bear and iA Writer.
