# Quick capture

Get a thought into your vault from anywhere, in a couple of seconds. Captures land in one of two places, both are plain notes, both optional, both in Settings:

- **Today's note**, one note per day (`daily/2026-07-27.md`). Your day, in one file. Open it anytime with ⇧⌘D.
- **Inbox**, a single `inbox.md` at the vault root. Everything piles up as bullets; sort it out when you have a minute. ⇧⌘I opens it.

## From your iPhone and iPad

- **Widget**, add the Wander Capture widget to your home screen or lock screen; one tap opens the capture sheet.
- **Control Center**, add the Wander button (iOS 18) for capture from anywhere, even the lock screen.
- **Share sheet**, send text, a link, or an image from any app to Wander. Images land in `attachments/` with a link in your note.
- **Siri and Shortcuts**, "Add to my Wander inbox" appends without even opening the app. The Action button can do the same.

## From your Mac

- Share from any app via the share menu → Wander.
- File ▸ Open Today's Note starts (or continues) the day's page.

## Make it yours

Settings lets you rename the inbox, pick the daily folder and date format, or turn either destination off. Each vault can override the defaults, the choice travels with the folder to every device. If a vault already has Obsidian daily-notes settings, Wander uses those, including your template for fresh daily notes.
